Intro to Java online coding camps are designed for school students aged 12 to 16 years old, who want to make their first steps into text-based Java coding language. Previous coding experience would be an advantage but is not required. Each Intro to Java camp goes for three hours with a short 10 minutes break and consists of two digital art projects, which students code during the session. This camp covers key computer science concepts such as functions, loops and if statements; and how they are used in Java. Campers will use Openprocessing.org a free online educational platform, where they will be able to save their projects, develop them further as well as create new projects and share their games and animations with their family and friends. If your child enjoys their Intro to Java camp – you are welcome to book another available Intro to Java camp, as there will be new projects, activities and concepts to learn. If you want your child to learn coding on a regular basis and join our Java Advanced coding course during school terms, the Intro to Java coding camp is an ideal place to start.

Online coding camps are designed for kids who prefer to learn computer science and coding from home. We focus on quality continued learning and have developed a unique learning pathway: Beginners > Intermediate > Advanced. The camps are taught by CODE4FUN instructors who are professional programmers or computer science students. Our instructors follow the COOE4FUN curriculum that is designed to continually progress the knowledge and skills of our campers. Each camp is three-hours long and consists of different projects, activities and concepts to learn. Each camp could be booked alone or in conjunction with another camp.
Online coding camps are are run via Zoom video conferencing and allow real-time interaction between students and the CODE4FUN instructors. In order to join CODE4FUN online coding camps you will need a laptop or a desktop device with a stable Internet connection. Upon your registration, you will receive a User Guide with step-by-step instructions on how to join and prepare your child for the session. We ask that you help your child, especially Beginners students, get ready to join their session and will supervise them for the first few minutes to make sure there is no technical issues in their end.
Each online coding camp is a live and interactive video conferencing session. Your child will be able to communicate with CODE4FUN instructor, ask questions and receive ongoing support. Our instructors will go slowly through the content, ensuring each student is following along. Our teachers will also be able to access your child’s code remotely at any point of time during the session to fix coding bugs if need be. Students use an online programming environment, with endless access to online study materials, allowing them to advance their coding skills outside their virtual classroom.
