Creative Coding – Scratch

Creative Coding – Scratch course consists of four levels and offers 25 engaging projects that introduce young learners to the world of digital art, animation, and game development. Designed for for Year 2 – Year 6, this program caters to both new coders and those with prior coding experience.

Students will embark on an exciting journey to design and develop polished games inspired by such hits like Geometry DashMinecraft PlatformerFlappy Bird, T-Rex Run and many others. Through these projects, coders will delve into essential programming concepts, such as control flow, loops, conditional statements, and event-driven programming, while enhancing their understanding of logic, mathematics, and algorithmic thinking. They will also work with variables to store and manipulate data, create lists for organising information, and build reusable functions to streamline their code.

By the end of the course, students will develop a solid foundation in computational thinking, problem-solving, and debugging strategies, equipping them with the skills to tackle more advanced programming challenges in the future.

Using the intuitive and versatile Scratch platform, students gain access to a powerful online environment with endless opportunities to refine their coding skills, both in class and independently. This course not only fosters creativity but also builds essential technical skills and confidence.

STEM Coding – Scratch

The STEM Coding course introduces students to the exciting connection between coding and applied mathematics. It’s perfect for for primary school students who have some prior experience or for students new to coding and eager to explore how maths powers technology. Students learn how concepts such as X & Y coordinate system, angles & degrees, positive and negative numbers, and many other mathematical ideas come to life through interactive projects and games.

The STEM Coding program consists of four levels (10 lessons per level) and includes 20 engaging, hands-on projects. Using block-based coding in Scratch, students design and develop games such as Treasure Grid Quest, where they navigate a grid using coordinates; Geometry Dash, which explores angles, gravity and friction; and Space Invaders which strengthens logical thinking and sequencing. They also create practical applications such as a digital clockinteractive quizzes, and dynamic art projects like a Digital Kaleidoscope, where symmetry and geometry meet creativity.

As they build their projects, students apply concepts from applied mathematics to control movement, design game mechanics, and animate digital characters. They also strengthen their computational thinking while learning essential coding structures such as loops, variables, functions, and conditionals.

By combining creativity with problem-solving, students gain confidence in both mathematics and coding, learning to think like young engineers and innovators. The course uses an online programming environment that provides continuous access to study materials, allowing students to experiment and advance their skills beyond the classroom.
