Weekly Coding Classes for Y2 – Y6 Students 

CODING FUNDAMENTALS, Intermediate Level

Join our weekly Coding Classes for kids in Erskineville. The Coding Fundamentals, Intermediate coding course consists of four levels and 25 sophisticated software projects, which students develop using block-based programming environment Scratch (developed by MIT Media Lab). During this course students will learn and apply more complex computer science concepts such as booleans, recursive algorithms and lists. Students will also be introduced to the basics of Artificial Intelligence (AI), user interface design and user input validation. Students will both be guided through the creation of projects such as Two-Player and Quiz games and will be given an opportunity to define and develop their own projects independently with a minimal guidance. The benefit of this project based curriculum is that students are able to accomplish a number of original projects themselves, hence they understand the subject matter more deeply.

CODING ADVANCED

Join our weekly Coding Classes for Kids in Erskineville. During the Advanced coding course, students use both Scratch (developed by MIT Media Lab) and more advanced coding platform, Snap! (created by University of California, Berkeley as an extended reimplementation of Scratch). Snap! allows to develop realistic prototypes of the most famous games such as Flappy Bird, Fruit Ninja, Colour Switch and run them on mobile devices. This course consists of two main parts: Game development and Mobile Game Development. Students will learn more advanced computer science concepts, maths and physics in order to build more sophisticated projects, simulations and app prototypes. They will also be introduced to the basics of Mobile App development and User Interface design. Students will both be guided through and encouraged to work independently in order to achieve a specific goal. At the end of the Advanced course, students should be able to build a number of independent projects, which can be run on mobile devices.
