Join our Scratch Intermediate coding course for kids at Villa Maria Catholic Primary School. The Intermediate coding course consists of four levels and 20 sophisticated software projects, which students develop using block-based coding in Scratch developed by MIT Media Lab. Students create their own versions of Geometry Dash, Pacman, Space Invaders, Asteroids, code an analogue clock, quiz games and interactive drawing apps. Students learn and apply computer science concepts such as functions, nested loops, recursive algorithms, booleans and lists. Students also learn the basics of User Interface design and data validation. Students use an online programming environment with endless access to online study materials, allowing them to advance their coding skills outside their classroom.
By the end of the Scratch Intermediate course students should be confident with creating sophisticated projects in Scratch independently. They should have a sound knowledge of key computer science concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, lists, booleans and functions. All students will undergo a formal assessment and parents will receive individual reports outlining the achievements and progress of their child.
Join our Scratch Coding & Game Development coding course for kids at Villa Maria Catholic Primary School. This coding course consists of four levels and 25 exciting projects in Scratch. Students learn how to create fun polished games such as Putt Putt, Hoop Jump, Scratch-Craft, Flight Simulator, and Tiny Tanks by implementing fundamental programming logic, mathematics, variables, lists, and functions. Students design sophisticated applications like Baby Yoda Trainers, 3D Printer Simulators, and Binary Calculators. Students use an online programming environment with endless access to online study materials, allowing them to advance their coding skills outside their classroom.
By the end of the Scratch Coding & Game Development course, students will be highly confident in developing sophisticated projects in Scratch independently. They should have a strong understanding of key computer science concepts such as loops, variables, lists, functions, and game logic. Our coding courses are designed for kids who like computer science and coding and all things digital. We focus on quality continued learning and have developed a unique learning pathway: Beginners > Intermediate > Advanced > Pro. All coding classes are taught by CODE4FUN instructors who are professional programmers or computer science students. Our instructors follow the COOE4FUN curriculum that is designed to continually progress the knowledge and skills of our students and spans a four-year period. Each stage is one year long and consists of four levels of student progression.
