Coding Classes in Mosman

Coding classes for  Y1 – Y12 students in Mosman. Beginners, Advanced and Pro students are welcome to join. Mosman Art Gallery every Monday and Thursday during school terms. Students learn the fundamentals of programming while creating amazing games, projects and apps. Scratch, Snap!, Arduino Robotics, Unity 3D and VR (Google cardboard) all are covered.

 

 

Scratch Beginners Level 2

Location: Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman
Time: Every Monday, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Duration: 9 weeks, from 1 May till 26 June
Fee: $198 per student per term (GST inclusive)
Level: Y1 – Y6 continuing students and digitally savvy beginners, who are keen to join
Description: Students go deeper into the main programming concepts while creating their own computer games and interactive projects in Scratch.

Scratch Advanced Level 2

Location: Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman
Time: Every Thursday, 3:40 pm – 3:40 pm
Duration: 10 weeks, from 27 April till 29 June
Fee: $220 per student per term (GST inclusive)
Level: Y2 – Y6 students with previous coding experience
Description: Students learn higher level programming concepts such as data structure with new lessons and challenges while building more sophisticated games and interactive projects in Scratch.

Snap! Advanced Level 4

Location: Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman
Time: Every Thursday, 4:45 pm – 5:45 pm
Duration: 10 weeks, from 27 April till 28 June
Fee: $220 per student per term (GST inclusive)
Level: Y3 – Y7 students with previous coding experience
Description: Students continue to explore Snap! further with a main focus on data structure and list concepts while building games, which can be played on mobile devices.

Arduino Robotics & Programming in C 

Location: Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman
Time: Every Thursday, 5:50 pm – 6:50 pm
Duration: 10 weeks, from 27 April till 29 June
Fee: $250 per student per term (GST inclusive)
Level: Y5 – Y9 students with previous coding experience
Description: Students learn how Arduino boards can be used to build gaming controllers for video games. The main project for Term 2 has been broken up into two parts. The first part is designing a video game controller using an Arduino nano board and writing C code in the Arduino IDE. Part two is then to develop two games in the programming language Processing that can be played using the controller developed in part one. The first game is an etch-a-sketch and the second is a surprise! Laptops and Arduino sets are provided.

Snap! & JavaScript Pro

Location: Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman
Time: Every Monday, 4:40 pm – 5:40 pm
Duration: 9 weeks, from 1 May till 26 June
Fee: $198 per student per term (GST inclusive)
Level: Y5 – Y7 students with previous coding experience
Description: Students continue to explore Snap! and practice JavaScript further with a main focus on data structure and list concepts while building games, which can be played on mobile devices.

Unity 3D & C# Pro

Location:  Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman
Time:  Every Monday, 5:50 pm – 6:50 pm
Duration: 9 weeks, from 1 May till 26 June
Fee:  $198 per student per term (GST inclusive)
Level: Y7 – Y12 students with previous coding experience
Description: Students learn to code within a professional 3D game engine, UNITY. Students progress their computer science skills by learning the fundamentals of C# programming, management of a 3D game environment, and understanding the core concepts of level designing. An introduction to mobile (Android) and VR (Google cardboard) development is also covered.
