New Computer Programming Course for Y1-Y5 Beginners in Balgowlah & Manly Starts Soon

Dear Northern Beaches parents and students, we are very excited to announce that we are opening our new Computer Programming For Beginners course in Balgowlah & Manly in a couple of weeks.

Classes will be held every Tuesday afternoon from 5:10 pm to 6:10 pm at  the 1st Balgowlah Scout Hall (Pickworth Avenue near Balgowlah Oval).

Age:

School Students from Year 1 to Year 5 are welcome

Level:

The course is designed for beginners, so no previous experience is required.

Course Description: 

We introduce students to the basics of programming concepts and teach them how to build interactive stories, computer games, and animations. We use Scratch (scratch.mit.edu), a block-based programming environment that allows kids to create projects from day one. Scratch was developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in order to introduce primary school students to creative computing and computer science. This is the most popular computer science educational platform in the world.

Laptops

Are provided. However your children are very welcome to use their own laptops if they wish.

Price

We charge $20 per lesson, so this term’s fee comes to $140 per child per term, as there will be 7 lessons.

We are very excited to announce our new Web Development Programming Course for children in Five Dock.

Classes are held every Saturday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in DaVinci Hub, 239 Great North Road, Five Dock (www.davincihub.com).

Course Description: 

Web Application Development teaches children the fundamentals of designing and building a web application with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This course provides tools for the kids to explore and craft their own web applications. The course guides them to think logically and nurtures their creativity and their love for learning. At the end of the course, students will be able to create their own interactive web application that is fun to share with their friends and family.

Meet our Web Development Teacher:

The course is designed and taught by a highly professional web developer Uyen Nguyen. Uyen is a Software Engineer at IRI. She redesigns the system’s architecture to migrate the complex system to the Web. As a former software engineer at HotSchedules, she used to design and build a cloud-based back of house system for hospitality industry. Uyen used to be a mentor for Software Engineering Workshop at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW.

Unity3D Programming Course for Y7-Y11 Students in Mosman
